A proper black tea! This is great all purpose tea, I am a coffee drinker so I like my tea dark. Excellent flavor and body.Upon discovering Pu-Erh tea, I've learned I'm a fan. I have been trying to study it because it appears it is produced in various ways. Sometimes it is aged so many years before it is sold and other times it is not. I have much to learn about it. I tried tea bags. I've tried a loose leaf that was aged 10 years. I've also tried a loose leaf that was aged 4 years. Now, I come to Pu-Erh Tuo Cha Tea and it has been excellent in flavor!I'm learning there are different types of this Pu-Erh tea available. Some are considered raw, others ripe, some loose, some made into cakes or the style of this particular one is Tuo Cha which is a bit like looking at a very tiny birds nest and they are wrapped individually in paper. They have so many different styles and names for it I find myself a bit confused at this point but I will hang in there and try to learn more about this wonderful tea. I like the idea of the type that is fermented because it would provide good bacteria to the digestive system. However, I can't honestly say if this type is fermented or aged at all because I haven't been able to figure that part out. I do know it's organic and fair trade and tasty and I like it. I know when it is gone I'm going to want more! The rest I will have to learn as the Pu-Erh tea seems to be very calming to my digestion which is something I need. This does not come with any type of instructions as to how to brew and I admit to reading online about it in order to gain some knowledge before attempting to steep it. I have a handy little steeping infuser that fits inside my mug very nicely that also has a lid which keeps everything nice and hot which is also convenient. I unwrapped it and put it in the tea infuser and poured water in my mug and steeped it. Normally, if I'm using a tea bag in my mug the bag goes in and stays in. I like strong tea. With this, I wasn't sure what to expect and I do have a large mug so I left it for about 1.5 minutes to steep. It was a very rich hue at that point so I took the infuser out and tasted it with a spoon. It was quite strong that quick so I decided I would use it that way and save the rest for another cup the next day. I really enjoyed that cup of tea. It was much stronger than expected and had a good earthy strong flavor but it was not at all bitter. I liked it. The next day I put the water in my large mug and the infuser with the tea (from the fridge) and added hot water and let it steep probably 4 minutes and took it out. It was just right and I enjoyed another big mug of this tea! I placed the covered tea inside the refrigerator again and the next night took it out and attempted to use it again. I let it steep for probably 5 minutes or more and it was very light in color. It had a very mild flavor and was not strong enough for me. So apparently with my huge mug, I can only get two nice cups of tea from one Tuo Cha at the strength and bold flavor I like it at. For the third night, I ended up adding a Pu-Erh tea bag to the already steeped Tuo Cha and had tea albeit not of the same quality or flavor but it did suffice. If memory serves there were 29 Tuo Chas in the 4 oz bag which I will probably get two big mugs of tea from each time I use them. For me, it works and I will enjoy this as a very nice treat until it is gone. In the meantime, I have much to learn about Pu-Erh and the various ways it can be purchased and what is considered the best, if it should be aged or not, fermented or not, the best way to buy it, store it and use it. Tea is a very individual drink I suppose sort of like Coffee what strength one likes and what types is all in who is drinking it. It is fun to experiment and try new types. I love that this is organic and I hope if you get the opportunity to give this a try you enjoy it as much as I have!I was given the opportunity to review this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. The tea is very refreshing and excellent flavor- nice color. It’s a good quality green tea.I've tried many different oolong teas and water sprite is my favorite. It seems that tea from China is in short supply these days because of pandemic conditions so I really had to search for what I wanted. I had not tried this brand before so I took a chance on an expensive item because I was out of my favorite oolong tea leaves. Wow! I could not be more pleased with this tea! The packaging is sturdy, the leaves are so clean - no twigs and sticks as I've had before. The brew has the lovely honey amber color that I love and the smooth fullness I enjoy. And I can get lots of re-brewing out of the leaves as they are full of goodness! I will be telling others about this tea! Thanks!Love the tase, deep and dark. Was even better before the pricing increased.I love tea, I love trying new teas and this was a new one for me. When I opened the bag I got that wonderful green tea leaf smell. I brewed a cup up. It came out a beautiful golden green color. The aroma coming off it was a sweet fruity peachy smell. I took a sip and it flowed smoothly over my tongue. It tastes a slight fruit green tea. I added a little sugar and the fruit notes opened up a little more but didn't overwhelm the wonderful taste of green tea. They are right, this is one everyone should have on hand in their kitchens at all times. This would be really good with a light breakfast or with a snack between meals. The health benefits alone should make you want to try it. It lowers your risk of cancer, lowers your blood pressure, lowers your bad ldl cholesterol, keeps your heart healthy, and help p s with weight management. I will definitely be keeping this one on hand in my kitchen. I did receive this product at a reduced price in exchange for an honest review. My first try with pu'erh tea!I was hesitant about investing in such an unusual (unheard of to me) tea. After lots of research, decided this was a good "gateway" version to start with.I guess I like my tea on the strong side (or I'm just not good at it yet).I got fewer good steeps than other reviewers; no more than 5.The changing flavors with each steep were very interesting and exciting.I was constantly anticipating the new flavor of the next steep. The first and second were woodsy, earthy and comfortable. The third and fourth were slightly fruity and appealing. The fifth went back to something more earthy. It's hard to describe, as there were so many different little flavors bouncing around in there. Different with each brew. It felt very grounding, almost sacred.Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and the experience.Thank you for making this jewel available and affordable. My curiosity about this type of tea has definitely been piqued.I will buy again. :)I really liked this tea. It came in a silver foil resealable pouch. As soon as I opened the bag I was immediately hit with the smell of the roasted rice and it was so warm and comforting. I had this tea in the afternoon as a pick me up and it was a great pick-me-up to finish the rest of my work day. It was a nice clean flavor and the flavor of the earthy rice came through. I drink this every day in the afternoon with a digestive cookie. Even though I bought this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review, I would definitely recommend it to anyone that's looking for a lightly flavored tea that isn't filling. Sometimes when I'm not feeling well I like to pour tea over rice for a light lunch. I'm going to make this one next time.
